Machining Department Lead - 2nd Shift Parker Hannifin – Composite Sealing Systems Division, San Diego (Otay Mesa), California. Standard work hours: Monday- Friday, 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm (2nd shift).

Position Summary The Machining Department Lead oversees daily operations, ensuring productivity and quality standards. Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing performance metrics, resolving conflicts, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Job Functions

Supervise daily operations to ensure productivity and efficiency.

Provide guidance and support to team members.

Monitor team performance and workflow.

Inspect and evaluate the quality of work.

Collect and analyze daily production data.

Utilize a day‑by‑hour tracking system.

Partner with other departments to coordinate efforts.

Address and manage low‑level conflicts quickly.

Implement disciplinary procedures as needed.

Escalate concerns to appropriate leadership.

Support and implement training programs.

Lead High‑Performance Teams (HPT) for continuous improvement.

Perform daily hands‑on work.

Support quality initiatives and maintain ISO compliance.

Follow safety and environmental policies.

Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications Education

High school diploma or GED.

College degree or certifications preferred.

Experience

8+ years in a manufacturing environment.

5+ years operating CNC machinery.

Supervisory experience preferred.

Familiarity with blueprint/GD&T and precision measurement.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Experience with SharePoint preferred.

Knowledge of MSSV preferred.

Physical Demands

Lift up to 35 lb. regularly.

Stand, walk and sit for extended periods.

Wear PPE throughout shift.

Operate power tools and heavy machinery.

Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $26.75 /hr to $40.75 /hr. Participation in Annual Incentive Program.
