Overview
We are recruiting for an Analyst/Programmer position in the Division of Oil & Gas, Department of Natural Resources, located in Anchorage, Alaska.
Mission and Values The Division’s mission is to develop, conserve, and maximize Alaska’s natural resources in the public interest. This position supports that mission by delivering customer‑focused technology resources, applications, and solutions that align with department and state strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities • Maintain and develop custom software applications for oil, gas, and geothermal resource management.
• Perform database management and integrate third‑party software critical to resource operations.
• Collaborate with technical and non‑technical staff across DOG, DNR, and SOA.
• Manage work via a ticketing system, setting priorities with division management.
Qualifications
Computer programming experience: 2 years for Analyst/Programmer 3; 4 years for Analyst/Programmer 4, with 1 year in a business or scientific application.
Education substitution: 18 semester/24 quarter hours in Computer Science or related major may substitute for experience; associate degree may substitute for 9 months.
Technical competencies: Software Development, Analysis & Assessment, Database Management, Software Testing & Evaluation, Technical Documentation.
