We are seeking a Product Safety Engineer with hands‑on experience in product safety testing, certification processes, and safety compliance for electronic hardware. The ideal candidate has strong test execution skills, familiarity with international safety standards, and the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure products meet global safety requirements.
Responsibilities
Perform product safety testing, including thermal, input current, capacitor discharge, dielectric withstand, earthing, abnormal operation, component failure, touch current, ball pressure, mold stress relief, and stability tests. Define and execute tests using laboratory tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, dielectric withstand testers, touch current testers, traffic generators, data acquisition systems, calipers, and thermal imaging equipment. Read schematics and PCB layouts to identify safety‑critical components. Provide innovative test solutions or automate tests. Coordinate product testing and certification with independent listing agencies such as UL, CSA, and Nemko. Qualifications
2‑5 years of product safety testing experience or equivalent. Knowledge of basic safety standards, including IEC 60950‑1 and IEC 62368‑1. Proficiency in defining tests, setting up, and working with laboratory tools. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong organization and time management skills to handle tight schedules. Self‑motivated and able to work independently in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment. BS in Engineering or equivalent. Preferred Skills
Experience in test automation using Python. Networking knowledge equivalent to CCNA. Experience with CSA Supervised Manufacturer’s Test for Certification Program, UL Data Acceptance Program, or similar ISO/IEC 17025 CTF Stage 3 accredited programs.
