Primary Purpose Of Position
The Principal Quantitative Analyst for T&S Strategy & Development will deliver descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analyses, simulations and models to support portfolio valuation, pricing, efficiency, risk management, regulatory alignment, and overall strategic planning for PSC Transmission & Substation initiatives. As a member of the T&S Business Analytics team, the successful candidate will collaborate directly with industry experts, company leadership, principals, financial engineers, risk analysts, and policy experts. Candidate will apply quantitative techniques to measure and analyze initiative risks and returns to form opinions on the strengths and limitations of the respective models, projects and programs. A solid understanding of traditional valuation and risk/return modeling techniques along with a strong foundation in programing, statistical methods, and data analysis is essential.
Primary Duties And Accountabilities
Leverage in-depth technical knowledge of predictive analytics, statistics, modelling techniques and simulation approaches to develop benefit vs cost, forecast, risk management, and pricing models.
Conduct research and produce proof-of-concept demonstrations to evaluate new quantitative modeling approaches and solutions to complex problems.
Translate quantitative and business concepts into efficient, robust, supportable system designs and architectures.
Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to less experienced technical analysts on the team and in the organization.
Partner with IT to develop complex data structures and a business intelligence platform for reporting end user data mining.
Partner with stakeholder analytics teams across Exelon Enterprise to expand the use of and gather feedback on the most productive models and systems.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field OR 9-12 years of relevant business experience.
8 to 10 years of relevant experience.
Thorough understanding of applied and financial mathematics concepts and techniques (including advanced statistical techniques).
Ability to use a broad range of development languages (e.g. C/C++, Python, Perl, Matlab, etc.) and database query languages.
Ability to quickly master industry fundamental concepts including energy commodity markets, portfolio valuation, and system dynamics.
Should be self-driven and able to work in (and lead) team sizes ranging from individual contribution to several members.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree and/or multiple advanced certifications in the quantitative field (tools & techniques).
Prior Energy and/or regulatory industry experience in electric utility transmission, substation or distribution business analytics.
In-depth experience with large-data, quantitative analysis tools and systems (SQL, Python, Java, MS Azure, Power BI, Anaconda, Jupyter, others).
Experience developing advanced quantitative analyses and/or risk models to support senior utility leadership business strategies.
Experience with CASCADE.
Salary & Benefits
Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $112,000.00/Yr. – $154,000.00/Yr.
