We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Instrumentation Engineer in our office to help us achieve our company mission. This person will be part of the Power & Controls team, which is responsible for developing designs of electrical and instrument systems and performing a variety of computer-based modeling, design, engineering, and planning tasks on projects. C&I is a full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management and procurement services to various clients in oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.

Responsibilities

The Senior Instrumentation Engineer prepares complete design packages, including construction scope of work, for complex projects that meet design intents and customer expectations. Designs are well coordinated with other departments.

Resolving coordination conflicts effectively, negotiating win-win solutions to multi-discipline project design issues.

With appropriate support, ensure vendor submittals meet the intended use. Coordinating multi-discipline review of vendor documents. Resolving conflicting comments. Considering costs associated with requested changes. Preparing a single set of comments for response to vendor.

Monitoring and reporting progress against engineering schedules and budgets. Independently taking corrective actions to meet the plan.

Developing an independent quality plan to supplement the normal project execution plan when appropriate. Ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency in the work produced in concert with project team objectives and customer expectations.

Functions as the Instrumentation lead on multi-disciplined projects.

Helps develop P&ID’s and create typical instrumentation design documents.

Specifies process instrumentation to include level, pressure, flow, and temperature.

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering program with a minimum of 6 years of related work experience, or a bachelor’s degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering technology program with 8 years of relevant experience.

Ability to travel domestically or internationally to offices, vendor shops, and project sites. Travel may be up to 10%.

Must comply with drug-free workplace requirements.

Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and pass any required background checks.

Performs work in a safe manner in accordance with C&I and client requirements.

Valid Driver’s License

Qualifications

Professional Engineering License is preferred.

Ability to complete electrical equipment designs at or below 480 volts is a plus.

Experience building client relationships.

Previous work experience leading a team.
