Chat with a senior from the comfort of your own home
NYC Service, New York, New York, us, 10261
Chat with a senior from the comfort of your own home!
Have 1 - 2 phone calls with a senior on a weekly basis. Calls can vary from 15 minutes, to 30 minutes, 45 minutes, an hour! It all depends on how chatty you and your matched senior are. These calls make such a positive impact on our senior's lives! Share stories with each other! Laugh and share wisdom with each other.
Many of our seniors are more isolated and therefore are battling depression and anxiety due to the impact of COVID-19.
Ourolder adults are unable to go out into the community and are looking for a companion to laugh with, talk to and enjoy their time with!
Have one on one calls or facilitate a group call with seniors (no more than 5 seniors in a group). This is a mutually rewarding friendship, where you’re able to learn about the seniors in your neighborhoods, their art styles, interests and the changes that have occurred to the community over the years!
We serve a diverse group of elderly and seek people of all backgrounds and ages (18 and up) to join us in helping our seniors feel more connected to their communities.
This Friendly Visiting Program is funded by The NYC Department for the Aging.
