Summary

Gulf Coast Bank & Trust Company is seeking an experienced Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist to join our Loan Operations team. This position is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and finalizing commercial loan documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely closings. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial loan processing and a strong working knowledge of commercial lending procedures, banking regulations, and loan systems.

This position will be required to report in-office to a location in Metairie, LA or Covington, LA; other locations within the company footprint may be considered based on availability and at the discretion of the company.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review commercial loan documentation packages in accordance with credit approvals and bank policy. Ensure accuracy and compliance of all documentation with state and federal regulations, including UCC filings, collateral records, and mortgage documents. Collaborate with loan officers, borrowers, legal counsel, title companies, and other third parties to obtain required documentation and resolve discrepancies. Perform pre-closing due diligence, including reviewing insurance, title work, entity documentation, and lien positions. Maintain and update loan tracking systems and electronic records, ensuring accurate data entry and file integrity. Manage post-closing file review and follow-up for outstanding documentation, exceptions, and recordings. Support internal and external audits and regulatory examinations by providing required loan files and documentation. Ensure timely and efficient communication with all stakeholders involved in the loan process. Stay informed of changes to lending regulations and documentation best practices. Performs additional duties as assigned. Requirements

Skills/Experience/Education

High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial loan processing/documentation. Strong knowledge of commercial lending structures, collateral types, and documentation procedures. Familiarity with LaserPro loan documentation system is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Professional discretion in handling confidential information. Essential Mental & Physical Requirements

Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions. Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines. Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required. Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 15 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division any "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
