Job Purpose:

The Director of IT Operations is responsible for leading the execution, reliability, and continuous improvement of IT services and technology delivery across the organization. This role ensures that IT operations, enterprise platforms, infrastructure, and service delivery functions operate with clarity, accountability, and measurable business impact.

In addition to operational excellence, this role is expected to apply critical thinking and long-term perspective to identify patterns, anticipate future needs, and help shape the evolution of IT operations in alignment with business strategy.

Responsibilities and Associated Duties:

The Director of IT Operations provides leadership and oversight across IT operations, service delivery, infrastructure, and enterprise systems. In addition to driving day-to-day execution, this role applies critical thinking and a long-term perspective to identify patterns, challenge assumptions, and improve how IT services scale over time. The Director is trusted to make independent operational decisions, while exercising sound judgment on when to escalate, align, or present recommendations to senior leadership.

Key Duties:

Provide operational leadership: Establish standards, cadence, and accountability for day-to-day IT operations, including support, infrastructure, and enterprise platforms. Own service delivery and support management: Ensure effective support operations focused on quality, root cause resolution, and continuous improvement. Lead technology delivery and execution: Drive completion of IT initiatives, unblock stalled efforts, and coordinate delivery across teams and vendors. Oversee cloud, infrastructure, and DevOps operations: Ensure reliability, security, scalability, and cost effectiveness of Azure and related platforms. Maintain enterprise systems oversight: Act as operational owner for ERP, POS, telephony, and other critical business systems. Provide people leadership: Line manage IT, development, and product resources, handling performance, workload, and day-to-day management responsibilities. Manage vendors and stakeholders: Oversee third-party partners and act as a trusted IT leader to business and executive stakeholders. Support governance and risk management: Identify operational risks, ensure compliance, and maintain change and access controls.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience. Senior-level experience leading IT operations, service delivery, or technology execution. Broad technical understanding of cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, enterprise systems, and IT support operations. Experience managing and leading technical teams. Strong decision-making, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated ability to think beyond day-to-day operations and evaluate long-term impact Comfortable challenging existing approaches and proposing alternative solutions Able to connect operational decisions to broader business and technology strategy Experience contributing to medium- and long-term planning while maintaining operational accountability Nice to have:

Recent experience with AI-enabled solutions or agents, and/or supporting call center environments.
