APPEALS SUPERVISOR
Location: Fort Worth, TX 76109 | Remote after 1-month onsite training
Compensation & Schedule
• $22/hour
• Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
• Full-time, W2
ROLE IMPACT
The Appeals Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations of the Appeals Department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all internal and external appeal requests. This role drives performance by setting clear priorities, guiding team members, and developing strategies to improve quality, reduce response times, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise, assign, and monitor daily appeal workloads to meet accuracy and turnaround standards
• Assist team members in resolving customer complaints or appeal inquiries through verbal and written communication
• Review detailed provider appeals to ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and applicable client policies
• Maintain current knowledge of healthcare regulations impacting appeals and guide process implementation accordingly
• Provide coaching, feedback, and performance appraisals for team members while ensuring proper onboarding and continuous training
• Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal departments and external partners
• Support departmental projects, process improvements, and leadership initiatives as assigned
• Perform standard supervisory duties including time approval and annual performance evaluations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED required (education will be verified as part of the background process)
• 5+ years of experience in healthcare, insurance, or medical claims with direct involvement in bill review and appeals
• 2+ years of experience in a supervisory, management, or project leadership role
• Strong knowledge of Medicare (CMS), Medicaid regulations, and managed care billing processes
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, conditional formatting), Word, and Outlook
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven leadership abilities

• Internal tracking and performance reporting tools
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in healthcare administration, business, or related field
• Experience in workflow optimization and quality improvement in a healthcare or insurance setting
• Strong analytical, organizational, and team development skills
