Job Title: Head of Finance & Accounting

Location: Wichita, Kansas or Houston, Texas

CornerStone Professional Placement is seeking a Head of Finance & Accounting for an opportunity with a fast-growing organization. This role is a key member of the leadership team and will report directly to the President, overseeing financial reporting, forecasting, metric tracking, process development, continuous improvement, and investment analysis. The leader will manage a team responsible for invoicing, payroll & taxes, AR/AP, procurement, and cost control across multi-state operations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the accounting & finance team; set goals, coach performance, and build scalable processes.

• Oversee AR/AP, payroll, taxation, expense management, cash management, and asset tracking.

• Prepare and present forecasts, budgets, KPIs, and financial statements (internal/external).

• Direct outside accounting firms for audits, reviews, and financial reporting.

• Drive continuous improvement in policies, controls, and financial systems; evaluate and implement new tools.

• Conduct investment analyses and provide strategic recommendations to leadership.

• Maintain banking relationships, manage treasury functions, and perform reconciliations.

• Partner cross-functionally to translate financial insights into actionable business decisions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's preferred.

• CPA preferred.

• 8+ years progressive finance/accounting/business analysis experience with measurable impact on performance.

• 3+ years leading teams and cross-functional initiatives; strong executive communication.

• Advanced knowledge of GAAP, taxation, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel; extensive experience with accounting software/ERP.

• Proven success operating in evolving, fast-paced environments; strong prioritization and workload management.

• Excellent written/visual communication (tables, charts, graphs) to clearly tell the financial story.

• Commitment to confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive company and client information.

• Ability to travel up to one week per month; authorized to work in the U.S.; background and drug screening required.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Employment Type: Direct Hire

• Schedule: Full-time, on-site with periodic travel

• Location: On-site

• Salary: $150,000 – $180,000
