Respected and successful restaurant & bakery group is seeking a high-level Assistant General Manager to join the team! They are currently looking for two AGM candidates to help oversee various locations in the greater Los Angeles area. Looking for proven restaurant leaders with a background in cultivating growth and success within respected, high-volume fast casual or upscale-casual restaurant concepts. The ideal candidate is highly organized, efficient, and passionate about managing large, multifaceted teams. It is important that this person have a collaborative yet disciplined leadership style in order to hold themselves and the team accountable to high standards.

While the title for this role is AGM, candidates must have outside GM-level experience and preferably some Regional and/or Multi-Unit experience. Prior high-volume experience is also required as this role will be responsible for overseeing all front of house staff & operations and managing large teams of over 100+. Someone with a strong systems background with excellent people skills will excel in this role. Candidates must also be able to work a flexible schedule as business dictates – days off will rotate but are reasonable. Assistant General Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and positively impact all areas of the business including: sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation
  • Manage all front of house staff and guests with a focus on logistics and productivity
  • Ensure quality and consistency of all products served
  • Ensure all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition
  • Maintain positive and cooperative relationships with all vendors and business partners
  • Foster opportunities for the team to learn and grow
  • Continually strive to educate and develop of staff as it relates to food, beverage, and service
  • Create a positive and fun working environment
  • Hiring, firing, and scheduling
  • Assisting with labor reports and projected sales
  • Develop a positive relationship with guests
  • Taking ownership of the business to increase sales and profitability
  • Set an example to the team by providing excellent hospitality and service at all times
  • Anticipate the needs of the restaurant and act upon them
  • Knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and deliver prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements

Assistant General Manager Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Restaurant General Manager (GM), Food & Beverage (F&B) Director, FOH General Manager, Regional Manager, Director of Outlets, Area Manager, Regional Manager, Multi-Unit General Manager, or comparable title in a high-volume restaurant operation is required
  • Must have 8+ years of cumulative experience and proven success in a diverse, high volume, restaurant/hospitality environment
  • Outside GM-level experience is required , prior multi-unit experience highly ideal
  • High-volume restaurant experience required, large format corporate restaurants ideal
  • Fast casual and/or upscale-casual restaurant experience is preferred
  • College degree is a big plus
  • Outstanding longevity in past positions and/or upward mobility and career progression also highly preferred
