Boiler Operator
to join a long-established facility in
Syracuse, NY , where reliability, safety, and system knowledge are key. This isn't just a button-pushing job we're looking for someone who understands how power systems function from the inside out and is ready to take ownership of a wide range of plant equipment. This is a vital position for a candidate who thrives in high-pressure environments, has sharp troubleshooting skills, and enjoys working on essential industrial systems like
steam boilers, compressed air systems, motors, and power-generating equipment . What You'll Be Doing Operate and monitor
high-pressure steam boilers , ensuring efficient and continuous operation
Maintain and troubleshoot
pressurized piping systems
(water, steam, oil, compressed air, and natural gas)
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment such as
pumps, motors, air compressors, and electrical controls
Interpret
technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
to identify issues and support repairs
Conduct inspections and document equipment performance to stay ahead of safety or operational issues
Respond promptly to system alarms and troubleshoot malfunctions in real time
Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to support continuous plant operations
Follow all safety protocols and regulations this role plays a direct part in protecting facility uptime and team wellbeing
What You Bring Required: Minimum
3 years of hands-on experience
working with industrial steam boilers and powerhouse systems
Familiarity with
electrical equipment , pressurized gas systems, and rotating machinery
Ability to read and interpret
mechanical and electrical schematics
U.S. work authorization without the need for employer sponsorship
Preferred: 5+ years
working in a powerhouse or industrial manufacturing environment
Background in
preventive maintenance and emergency troubleshooting
Strong mechanical aptitude and independent problem-solving skills
Experience maintaining uptime in
production-critical environments
