Our client is seeking a VP of Finance to join their leadership team and help scale a fast-growing utilities services business. This is a newly created, high-impact role based at the companys headquarters in Fallbrook, CA, working closely with the COO and board to support aggressive growth, geographic expansion, and operational excellence. A Day in the Life of the VP of Finance In this role, youll own the entire finance and accounting function, from cash management and FP&A to investor reporting, audits, and M&A support. Youll partner closely with operations and leadership to translate financial data into actionable insights, helping the client scale efficiently while maintaining strong financial discipline. Your work will directly support the companys mission to deliver high-quality utility sub-metering services while expanding into new markets.

Responsibilities include: Lead cash management, forecasting, budgeting, and capital planning in a high-growth, leveraged environment Own lender, investor, and board reporting, delivering timely, decision-ready financial insights Build and scale FP&A, KPI frameworks, dashboards, and reporting systems tied to unit economics and growth Oversee accounting operations, monthly close, audits, and tax reporting (NetSuite environment) Optimize working capital, inventory controls, and demand planning across multiple locations Lead financial diligence, modeling, financing, and integration for acquisitions Build, mentor, and lead a growing finance and accounting team Implement systems, automation, and processes to improve accuracy, speed, and scalability

Requirements and Qualifications: Senior finance leadership experience (CFO, VP of Finance, or similar) in a high-growth environment Proven experience with debt and/or equity financing, cash burn modeling, and covenant management Strong background in FP&A, financial modeling, and operational analytics Hands-on systems mindset, including ERP optimization and reporting automation (NetSuite preferred) M&A experience, including diligence, deal support, and post-close integration Track record of clean, on-time audits and effective auditor management Collaborative, detail-oriented leader who can balance strategic thinking with execution
