ERG is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead/support a variety of water infrastructure projects. You will have the opportunity to work directly with communities nationwide to assess infrastructure needs, develop projects, and access infrastructure funding. Your work will put communities on a path to addressing critical challenges in delivering clean, safe drinking water and protecting water quality.
Job Description:
Independently assessing community water and wastewater infrastructure needs and identifying practical solutions
Developing clear, well-organized planning documents and technical reports (e.g., Preliminary Engineering Reports)
Preparing preliminary and detailed project designs that municipalities can use to secure infrastructure funding
Leading meetings with community stakeholders to gather information, present recommendations, and build project support and engagement
Depending on your experience and background, you may also contribute to additional project areas, such as evaluating and promoting innovative water and wastewater treatment technologies, analyzing the design, cost, and environmental impacts of infrastructure projects, or supporting other related technical efforts
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state, or the ability and commitment to obtain a PE license within 12 months of hire
5+ years of relevant experience in municipal water or wastewater system planning and design, with exposure to a variety of treatment systems. Experience with funding, financing, and governance frameworks for Capital Improvement Programs is a plus
Willingness and ability to travel as needed
Strong written and verbal communication skills
