Position Summary: Vertical Marketing Manager – Walmart Connect, Hoboken, NJ (preferred) | San Bruno, CA.
About the Role We are seeking a strategic storyteller and marketing leader to serve as a Vertical Marketing Manager for Walmart Connect. In this role you will develop and lead category‑specific marketing strategies that transform insights and industry trends into compelling narratives and go‑to‑market materials. Acting as a critical link between data, storytelling, and sales enablement, you will shape how Walmart Connect communicates its unique value proposition across key verticals and audiences. You will collaborate across Sales, Media Insights, Product, Marketing, and Creative teams to create high‑impact materials that empower our sales organization and inspire our advertisers. This position sits within a team that supports Food and Beverage accounts, and you will report to the Senior Manager, Vertical Marketing within Walmart Connect Enterprise Marketing.
Key Responsibilities
Shape Category Narratives
– Build vertical‑specific stories that highlight Walmart Connect’s differentiated value proposition through the lens of your assigned industry categories, and translate complex data and insights into cohesive, actionable stories that demonstrate Walmart Connect’s impact across the path to purchase.
Enable Sales Success
– Partner with Sales to design category decks, case studies, and insight‑driven toolkits that empower teams to have richer client conversations and accelerate revenue growth, while ensuring messaging is consistent with Walmart Connect marketplace positioning across all sales materials and enablement channels.
Influence Thought Leadership
– Collaborate on research and insights initiatives, including agency studies, advertiser perception reports, and category analyses, positioning Walmart Connect as a trusted retail media authority and develop materials that elevate Walmart Connect’s role in shaping the broader advertising and retail ecosystem.
Deliver Actionable Insights
– Use first and third‑party data sources and tools to provide seasonal and category‑level insights that inform enterprise marketing campaigns, long‑term business planning, and client strategy, and surface key trends to support vertical growth narratives and internal alignment.
Integrate Enterprise Storytelling
– Work with Content Strategy, Events, Brand Marketing, Design, and Creative Studio teams to ensure vertical narratives align with Walmart Connect’s overarching story and visual identity, and develop cohesive, visually compelling assets.

Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience in advertising, product marketing, insights, or category marketing.
Proven experience developing messaging frameworks, go‑to‑market materials, and thought leadership content.
Visual storytelling and presentation design skills (PowerPoint, Keynote, or similar).
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong understanding of the U.S. advertising and retail media landscape, including full‑funnel measurement principles.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and compelling stories.
Experience collaborating across Sales, Product, Marketing, Insights, and Design teams.
Proficiency with consumer and media research databases (Nielsen, MRI, ComScore, etc.), including AI‑driven tools for content development and insight generation.
Experience supporting category marketing for Food, Consumables, or Retail sector.
