We are seeking a

Senior Technical Designer – Women’s Petite

to join a growing apparel brand based in

San Francisco, CA . This is a

full-time, onsite, direct hire

role for a highly experienced technical design professional with deep expertise in

Petite fit and denim .

Position Summary This role plays a critical part in delivering exceptional fit, quality, and consistency across the Petite assortment. The Senior Technical Designer will own fit and garment construction for exclusively developed product, partnering cross-functionally with Design, Merchandising, Product Development, and global vendors. Approximately 80% of the business requires hands‑on fitting, including owned product and partner‑developed styles customized for Petite proportions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain block patterns and spec libraries to ensure consistent fit across categories

Create and manage detailed tech packs and fit comments for domestic and overseas vendors

Lead weekly fit sessions, with a strong focus on denim and pants

Analyze best‑ and worst‑selling styles to drive continuous fit improvements

Manage timelines, approvals, and action items to meet delivery deadlines

Support wear testing, fit metrics tracking, and technical design tools

Collaborate cross‑functionally to refine comfort, proportion, and Petite‑specific fit

Manage vendor relationships and resolve production‑related fit challenges

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

8+ years of experience in Women’s Technical Design

5+ years of patternmaking experience, with strong denim expertise

Deep understanding of Petite fit, grading, garment construction, washes, and fabrication

Proficiency in 2D pattern software, Adobe Illustrator, Google Workspace, and MS Office

Experience working directly with domestic and overseas factories

Proven ability to build fit from the ground up without an existing block library

Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills

Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment
