Job Description A growing, full-service CPA firm in Nassau County, Long Island is hiring a Tax Manager to work on a hybrid basis, supporting the tax compliance activity of the firm’s diverse clients and positioned for expected client growth. The culture is supportive, productive and friendly with low stress. Employees generally work normal 8‑hour days for most of the year, outside of tax season.
The Tax Manager role includes some infrequent transition work, working with owners of acquired firms and their clients to transition the work and relationships to the firm.
Responsibilities
Perform personal, partnership & corporate tax compliance for small to mid‑market companies.
Assist with firm audits & reviews.
Handle transitioning clients from acquired firms as needed.
Work on a hybrid basis: onsite at Nassau County office; rarely at client locations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
5+ years of hands‑on, practical experience performing personal, partnership & corporate tax compliance work.
Experience gained in public accounting (3–4+ years) plus 1–2+ years in private industry tax department is also considered.
Ability to work overtime as needed, usually leading up to 4/15, 9/15 and 10/15 to process tax returns on extension.
Ability to commute to the firm’s Nassau County office and work onsite on a hybrid basis.
CPA and/or EA strongly preferred.
