Base Pay Range $136,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr
Career Matchmaker – Public Accounting Professionals at Elite Firms As a Tax Manager, you will lead complex tax engagements, including consulting, planning, and compliance projects for closely held multi‑tiered pass‑through entities and C corps. You’ll provide guidance and leadership to the tax preparation team throughout the engagement lifecycle, with the flexibility to work remotely or in a hybrid environment (San Diego, CA).
Key Responsibilities
Tax Consulting and Compliance: Work directly with clients, assisting them with planning and leading the team to ensure accuracy and timeliness in returns, estimates, and projections.
Team Leadership: Engage and develop team members, aligning goals with department objectives and fostering growth opportunities.
Client Service: Deliver quality internal and external service in accordance with the firm’s values, building client loyalty and teamwork.
Continuous Process Improvement: Focus on creative solutions and problem‑solving to translate requests into actionable steps.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with an accounting certificate from an accredited university.
Minimum of 6 years of increasing responsibility in tax at a regional or large local CPA firm.
Must be an active CPA.
Prior tax experience with Partnerships, S‑Corps, and pass‑through entities.
Strong leadership skills.
In‑depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
Ability to work in a team and independently.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation.
Knowledge of tax technology, experience with ProSystem/Engagement, and paperless environment preferred.
Business development capabilities with a proven track record.
