The Pool General Manager oversees all aspects of resort pool operations, including safety, food and beverage service, staffing, and guest experience. This role ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, manages budgets, optimizes reservation systems and pricing, and maintains facilities to luxury standards. The Pool GM leads a team of lifeguards, attendants, servers, and bartenders, and serves as the primary liaison for culinary operations. A strong understanding of pool maintenance and guest service excellence is essential. The Pool GM fosters teamwork, provides excellent guest service, anticipates guest needs to exceed expectations, and builds brand loyalty by living the JW Marriott Core Values.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily pool operations, including maintenance, cleaning, and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with health standards.
Ensure lifeguards and pool attendants are properly trained, equipped, and certified to handle all situations.
Maintain accurate records of pool usage, incidents, and maintenance activities.
Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise all associates, including towel hut attendants, servers, bartenders, and runners.
Establish performance expectations, conduct evaluations, and provide coaching or disciplinary action as needed.
Ensure all staff certifications (lifeguard, CPR, first aid, water safety) remain current.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and exceptional guest service.
Develop and manage operating budgets, labor forecasts, and expense controls; track revenue, attendance, and operational metrics.
Approve payroll, purchasing, and invoicing related to pool operations.
Prepare and present operational reports for senior leadership or governing bodies.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience in hospitality operations, preferably in luxury resort environments; experience in staff scheduling, training, and team development across multiple roles (lifeguards, attendants, servers, bartenders).
Skills:
Strong leadership and communication skills; knowledge of pool maintenance and health regulations to ensure cleanliness and safety; ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays; excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities; proven track record managing pool or recreation facilities, including safety compliance and guest service standards; hands‑on experience with food and beverage operations, including budgeting and cost control; familiarity with reservation systems and yield management for cabanas or poolside services.
Required:
Must be at least 21 years of age.

Valid Las Vegas Alcohol Awareness Card (TAM Card)
Current Lifeguard Certification from an accredited organization

Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, upscale environment.
Requires eye/hand coordination.
May require use of standard office equipment and basic math skills.
Must regularly lift and move boxes, supplies, and materials weighing 25 lbs. or more.
Must work in a fast‑paced, noisy, and occasionally limited‑movement environment.
Maintain sanitation, food safety, and other food service environment requirements.
Comply with policies, procedures, job description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (SDS), and other instructions.
Exposure to cleaning chemicals.
