Manager, Business Risk Guide – Enterprise Services Risk Office (Capital One)
Capital One is hiring for a Manager in its Enterprise Services (ES) Risk organization. This first‑line function supports several lines of business—including Brand, Enterprise Supplier Management, Enterprise Products & Experience (EPX), Software, Global Enterprise Affairs, eData, Global Workplace Solutions, Emerging Payments, Ventures, and Tech—by building relationships, applying risk management expertise, and delivering value‑added risk services across the company.

Responsibilities
Build successful relationships with Investment, Product, Data, and other teams to understand business and technology risk impacts.
Perform risk reviews during RCSAs, PLAs, Exceptions, Applications, and targeted risk assessments; recommend mitigation activities.
Influence leaders within Investments, Compliance, Product, Data, Cyber, second‑line risk organizations, and Internal Audit on key technology risks.
Conduct periodic risk reviews with executives and support risk‑metric reporting.
Develop risk analyses, perform deep‑dive investigations, and lead specific risk initiatives to strengthen control effectiveness.
Design and support internal risk and control governance processes.
Identify and implement continuous risk program enhancements based on industry standards and Capital One’s strategic risk direction.
Support the ES Risk organization by implementing new and innovative ideas.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
At least 4 years of experience in the financial services or technology industry.
At least 4 years of project, program, process, or risk management experience.
At least 4 years of experience facilitating and leading cross‑disciplinary discussions.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience.
Knowledge of UK and US regulatory landscapes.
5+ years of experience in risk management, technology, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years leading highly cross‑functional programs.
Minimum 5 years consulting with senior executives and building strategy.
5 years supporting internal and external clients with an understanding of Investment, Product, and Data risk—security, sustainability, resilience, and data restrictions.
Experience in controls development, controls management, risk reporting, process level assessments, and risk self‑assessments.
Strong organization skills, managing multiple simultaneous projects.
Excellent verbal presentation and written communication; confident interacting with all levels.
Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and critical‑thinking skills to manage shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
