Role Description
This is a full‑time on‑site role for a General Counsel located in Plano, TX. The General Counsel will serve as the chief legal advisor to the organization, overseeing a wide range of legal matters such as corporate governance, labor and employment law, data privacy, and general legal compliance. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents, providing counsel on labor law and employment‑related matters, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, and advising senior management on corporate governance issues. The General Counsel will also collaborate with external legal partners as needed and work to mitigate potential risks to the organization.
Qualifications
Expertise in handling legal issues, corporate governance, and overseeing compliance frameworks.
Knowledge of labor and employment law, including employee relations and workplace policies.
Experience providing legal advice and counsel to senior management and stakeholders.
Understanding of data privacy regulations and ability to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
Juris Doctor (JD) degree and membership in good standing with a state bar, preferably Texas.
Experience in the real estate or construction industry is an advantage.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
Proven ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
