Your role as an Event Medical RN You will be primarily responsible for the nursing care of patients from triage to discharge or transport during Petco Park events.
Responsibilities
Exemplifying our Petco Park Promise: CARE, CONNECT, EXCEED by proactively welcoming all guests to the ballpark and consistently striving to exceed all guests’ expectations
Responding to incidents and patients throughout Petco Park that require nursing care
Utilizing the nursing process (assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation) throughout a patient's stay in the First Aid Stations at Petco Park, from triage to discharge/admission
Communicating effectively with other Event Medical team members including collaboration with contracted partners to ensure appropriate, timely, and professional care to all patients
Functioning safely and efficiently in high-stress situations and in response to unexpected changes in workload
Reaching proficient knowledge of resources available within Petco Park including ballpark layout, baseball, and the Padres organization
Representing the Padres in a positive and professional manner
Qualifications / Areas of Expertise
Being consistent, punctual, and having reliable attendance
Having experience, knowledge, and the skills necessary to provide age-appropriate emergency, urgent, and non-urgent care
Having experience working in an Emergency Room setting a plus but not necessary
Possessing a high degree of discretion, integrity, professionalism, and accountability
Having excellent written and verbal skills including the ability to correctly use punctuation and grammar
Maintaining a neat, professional appearance as outlined by the San Diego Padres organization
Having a County of San Diego MICN Certification is a plus but not necessary
Being bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus but not necessary
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds
Must be available for at least six (6) events (either home games and/or Special Events), with a minimum combination of three (3) events being either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday and/or weekday day games
Must be available for a minimum of two (2) events that fall on a holiday per calendar year, one (1) of them being New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day, with others including but not limited to Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Halloween, etc.
Graduate of a professional nursing program
Current California RN license
Valid Nursing Malpractice Policy
Valid ACLS Certification and BLS certification
As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check
Salary and Additional Compensation Per the California pay transparency law, the pay rate for this position is $48.00 per hour. Part-time non-union employees are subject to the San Diego Living Wage Ordinance and rates will increase accordingly. In addition to your hourly rate, the Padres offer PTO, employee discounts, appreciation, and recognition opportunities for this position.
