Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
expertise to join our growing team. This is a
full-time, hybrid role
based in the
San Francisco Bay Area , with a balanced schedule of in-person collaboration and remote work. This role is ideal for a finance leader who thrives in complex healthcare environments, understands FQHC regulatory and reimbursement models, and enjoys building strong, scalable finance operations that support executive decision-making. About ABW Medical ABW Medical is a healthcare revenue cycle management and business transformation organization who supports community health centers, hospitals, and physician organizations nationwide. We partner closely with executive leadership teams to strengthen financial performance, compliance, reporting, and long-term sustainability. Especially in mission-driven environments like FQHCs. Key Responsibilities Own and oversee
month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger
for FQHC clients Ensure compliance with
GAAP , HRSA requirements, and audit standards Lead preparation and coordination for
annual audits, cost reports, and grant reporting Manage and review
Medicare, Medi-Cal, PPS, wrap, and grant-related accounting Partner with CFOs and executive leadership on
budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and documentation Support
system transitions, process improvements, and automation initiatives Collaborate cross-functionally with RCM, operations, and executive stakeholders Provide mentorship and oversight to accounting staff as needed Required Qualifications 5+ years
of progressive healthcare accounting or finance experience Direct FQHC experience
(required) Strong knowledge of
PPS reimbursement, grants management, and cost reporting Proven experience with
audits and compliance
in an FQHC or community health setting Solid understanding of
GAAP
and nonprofit healthcare accounting Experience working with
EHRs and healthcare financial systems Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with client and internal teams Preferred Qualifications CPA or CMA Prior experience in a
Controller or Assistant Controller
role Experience supporting multiple entities or complex organizational structures Familiarity with
Epic or OCHIN is a plus Work Location & Schedule Hybrid role : approximately
50% on-site
at Bay Area client locations and
50% remote Candidates must be
