Job Summary
In keeping with Shields Health Care commitment to excellence, the x‑ray technologist will provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups while maintaining a fast‑paced, multi‑tasked oriented clinical environment.
This is a per diem opportunity across multiple sites – Brighton, MA; Dartmouth, MA; and Brockton, MA.
What you will do
Follow all proper policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times. These policies, procedures and protocols can be issued by Shields or the partnering hospital group for the location you are assigned to.
Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
Perform X‑rays in accordance to center’s protocol.
Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.
Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate.
Forward data and or films/CD to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
Clean and re‑supply equipment and rooms as needed.
Contrast administration.
What You Need
Must be certified in CPR.
Must be MA State licensed.
A minimum of 3 months of prior X‑ray experience is required.
Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty‑five pounds. Above physical requirements can be met with or without accommodation.
Additional Job Description The pay range for this position is $35/hr–$50/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
It is not intended that this Job Description include all details of the work functions of this position. The incumbent will perform work of a lower or equivalent classification as required or directed, and work of higher classification for training and development purposes or as situationally warranted.
