About the Position LocumJobsOnline is working with Wellhart, LLC to find a qualified Obstetrics and Gynecology MD in Des Moines, Iowa, 50314!

We are seeking an experienced Obstetrician/Gynecologist for a 42-day locum tenens assignment in Iowa. This opportunity begins on Jan 1, 2026, and features a 7a-7a 24-hour call schedule, with 6.5 shifts per month. The assignment focuses on providing care to OBED patients, including emergent cases involving vaginal deliveries and C-sections, as well as patients without a primary OBGYN.

Responsibilities and Duties

Provide comprehensive care to OBED patients, including emergent obstetric cases

Manage and perform vaginal deliveries and C-sections

Care for patients without a primary OBGYN

Participate as part of Iowa’s only maternity transport team

Respond to emergent patient needs and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams

Additional Information

Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology required (truly board eligible candidates considered)

Active Iowa license or IMLC required (LOQ must be uploaded at time of name clear)

Clean malpractice and background history required
