Role Description The Clinical Director provides clinical leadership and oversight to ensure the delivery of ethical, high‑quality, and compliant mental health services at Self‑Talk Counseling & Consulting, PLLC. This role is responsible for guiding clinical practice, supporting and supervising clinicians, and maintaining adherence to state regulations, ethical standards, and organizational policies. The Clinical Director plays a key role in building and sustaining a strong clinical team by leading recruitment efforts, interviewing clinical candidates, and supporting onboarding and clinical integration. The position collaborates closely with ownership and administrative leadership to align clinical services with the organization’s mission, values, and growth objectives.

Qualifications

Active, unrestricted clinical license in North Carolina (LCMHC, LCSW, LMFT, Psychologist, or equivalent).

Eligibility to provide clinical supervision under North Carolina licensure rules.

Minimum of two (2) years of post‑licensure clinical experience.

At least two (2) years of experience in a supervisory, leadership, or clinical oversight role.

Strong working knowledge of ethical standards, clinical documentation requirements, and compliance regulations.

Demonstrated ability to assess clinical competence and provide guidance on complex cases.

Experience participating in or leading recruitment, interviewing, and selection of clinical staff.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in group practice and private mental health environments.

Proven ability to engage in effective organizational and interagency collaboration.

Familiarity with insurance‑based service delivery, utilization management, and audit readiness.

Experience onboarding and supporting associate‑level clinicians, interns, or contract therapists.

Knowledge of trauma‑informed care, substance use treatment, or first responder mental health services.

Proficiency with electronic health record systems (e.g., SimplePractice or similar platforms).
