Physician – Department of Urology – Urologic Hospitalist (Open Rank/Track Faculty)
The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Wexner Medical Center are seeking a Urologic Hospitalist to join the Department of Urology. The Urologic Hospitalist is responsible for providing comprehensive inpatient care for acute and chronic urological conditions, directing the urology inpatient consult service, and collaborating with residents and advanced practice providers.
Responsibilities
Perform surgical procedures as assigned.
Provide direct and indirect patient care services in the inpatient setting.
Interview patients, obtain and review medical history, perform physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, respond to consultation requests, develop and implement treatment plans, document services, and educate patients and families.
Maintain accurate medical records.
Participate in peer reviews and audits.
Participate in hospital quality improvement initiatives.
Ensure continuing medical education requirements are met and serve on committees.
Precept residents, fellows, students, and advanced practice providers.
Perform other duties and call assignments as defined by the Chair.
Qualifications
MD or DO.
Licensed in Ohio and DEA licensure.
Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Urology.
Qualified for appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate with residents, faculty, and stakeholders.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of resident education and fostering a positive learning environment.
