Responsibilities
Provide professional nursing services to patients in an outpatient setting.
Perform nursing assessments, deliver direct and indirect patient care, offer health advice, educate patients and families, and handle phone triage.
Evaluate patient symptoms to determine urgency, facilitate next steps in patient care, and provide medical advice on treating symptoms.
Utilize the nursing process based on research and evidence-based outcomes to meet patient care needs.
Administer medications, collect specimens, and perform nursing procedures within scope of practice.
Document all nursing services provided.
Collaborate with other members of the health care team to ensure delivery of quality patient care and address ethical or legal issues.
Facilitate appropriate utilization of healthcare resources.
Enhance the patient experience.
Provide services in compliance with all applicable regulatory and professional standards, including the California Nurse Practice Act.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education and Experience (Required)
Successful completion of a nursing program.
Basic keyboarding skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Preferred
One (1) year clinical nursing experience, preferably in an ambulatory care setting.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Knowledge of registration and order entry systems.
Knowledge of patient scheduling and insurance verification and authorization.
License and Certifications
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in good standing in the State of California.
Current BLS Certification.
