Surgical Technician II
Join Sutter Health as a Surgical Technician II at CPMC-California Pacific Med Center – Mission Bernal. This role supports surgical operations by preparing the sterile field, assisting surgeons in gowning and gloving, draping patients, passing instruments, holding retractors, and anticipating the surgical team’s needs.
Responsibilities
Prepare the sterile field for each surgical procedure.
Assist surgeons in gowning, gloving, and draping patients.
Pass instruments and supplies during operations.
Hold retractors and anticipate surgeons’ needs throughout surgery.
Maintain supply distribution, perform equipment maintenance, testing, and setup as needed.
Qualifications
HS Diploma or GED. Preferred: Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or Military training as a scrub tech.
BLS – Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider.
One year of recent relevant experience.
General knowledge of surgical tools, procedures, and equipment.
Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Time‑management and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Shift and Schedule Full time, days, 8‑hour shift, variable days of the week, rotating weekends.
Benefits Yes. Union representation and non‑exempt regular employee status. Weekly hours: 32. Pay range: $53.30 to $63.69 per hour.
