Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Legal Oversight

Lead and oversee company-wide compliance with Indonesian mining, environmental, corporate, labor, and operational regulations, including but not limited to licensing (IUP/IUPK), ESG obligations, and reporting requirements. Develop, implement, and continuously enhance the regulatory compliance framework, policies, and internal controls to align with evolving laws and best practices. Monitor regulatory developments and proactively assess regulatory risks, advising management on mitigation strategies and business impact. Oversee regulatory audits, inspections, and inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses to regulators. Government Affairs & Stakeholder Management

Act as the primary liaison with central and regional government authorities, regulators, ministries, and state-owned entities relevant to the mining sector. Build and maintain strategic, credible, and compliant relationships with key government stakeholders to support business continuity and long‑term growth. Represent the company in regulatory discussions, consultations, and industry forums. Manage sensitive regulatory issues, negotiations, and escalations with professionalism and sound judgment. Corporate Governance & Transformation

Strengthen and enforce Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles across the organization, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and international standards. Lead transformation initiatives to elevate compliance maturity, governance culture, and accountability across business units. Partner with the Board, senior management, and internal functions (Legal, Operations, ESG, Risk, Internal Audit) to embed governance and compliance into daily operations. Ensure effective documentation, reporting, and governance structures to support transparency and regulatory scrutiny. Leadership & Capability Building

Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing regulatory compliance and government affairs team. Set clear standards, KPIs, and accountability frameworks to drive execution excellence. Act as a role model for integrity, professionalism, and ethical leadership. The Successful Applicant

Key Requirements

Minimum 15 years of experience in regulatory compliance, government affairs, legal, or related functions, within the Indonesian mining or natural resources sector. Strong and proven expertise in Indonesian mining law and regulations, environmental compliance, licensing, and government processes. Demonstrated experience working closely with government authorities, regulators, and senior stakeholders at both central and regional levels. Track record of leading organizational or compliance transformation, strengthening governance, and implementing robust compliance frameworks. Deep understanding of Good Corporate Governance (GCG), risk management, and regulatory best practices. Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence senior management and enforce standards across the organization. Excellent strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and communication skills. High integrity, resilience, and ability to manage complex, sensitive, and high‑stakes regulatory matters.
