Job Description Job Description About the Role: As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Senior Living Hospitality, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality resident care and support to our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to assist residents with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to monitor residents health and report any changes in condition. Ultimately, your contributions will significantly enhance the quality of life for residents and support their recovery process. JOB SPECIFIC Minimum Qualifications: Current certification as a Nursing Assistant in the state of employment. High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in long-term care or rehabilitation. Additional certifications in specialized areas such as dementia care. Responsibilities: Bathe and clean, as needed, both male and female clients by bed bath, shower and/or whirlpool. Assist in cleaning teeth, shampooing/combing hair, cleaning and cutting nails, applying make-up, shaving and cleaning glasses of both male and female clients. Make clients’ beds and change linens as needed, clean up room and closet, picking up unnecessary articles and arranging room neatly. Feed clients requiring total or partial assist with meals, set up trays for clients needing assistance, and pass and assist with snacks. Take and give notice in writing, vital signs (temp, pulse, respiration & blood pressure), heights and weights as requested, report abnormal or unusual signs to charge nurse. Report skin breakdown, pressure sores, changes in clients’ physical/mental condition to nurse immediately. Measure intake and output on all clients for whom it has been ordered including emptying urine from indwelling catheters or other urine collection devices near end of shift and assist in collection of specimens. Pass water to clients and ensure it is within reach. Collect water pitchers for cleaning per schedule. Report unusual color or odor of excretes (urine, drainage, stool or sputum) before discarding it. Request assistance when lifting, turning and moving clients, using lifting devices when needed. Help maintain personal dignity of each client by ensuring privacy and treating them with respect. Check safety devices and release mechanisms per policy. Perform routine household services essential to client care at home, including shopping, meal preparation, laundry and housecleaning. Complete Nurse Aide flow sheet, according to instructions using only authorized abbreviations. Identify client before providing care. Follow universal precautions and isolation procedures for infection control. Wash hands at beginning of shift, between clients, before passing trays and after assisting with elimination—even if wearing gloves. Maintain all service areas in clean and orderly condition and keep halls clear of equipment. Report suspected abuse immediately. Perform assigned security tasks throughout the shift. Provide relief for other associates for meal periods and breaks throughout your shift. Skills: The required skills for this position include strong communication abilities, which are essential for effectively interacting with residents and healthcare team members. Attention to detail is critical when monitoring vital signs and documenting resident information accurately. Compassion and empathy are vital in providing emotional support to patients, helping them feel valued and cared for. Preferred skills, such as specialized training in areas like dementia care, will enhance your ability to meet the unique needs of diverse patient populations.
