Job Description This role is field‑based and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience. Geography covers Ann Arbor, Waterford, Pontiac, Farmington Hills, Westland, and surrounding areas.
Execute brand strategy and tactics in field, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs to maximize short‑ and long‑term sales performance, placing the patient at the center of all efforts and operating within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those targets.
Create pre‑call plans using SMART objectives and execute post‑call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance.
Handle objections, misunderstandings, and concerns, consistently gaining logical calls to action to close every sales call.
Proactively serve customer needs, expectations, and challenges to build trusted customer relationships and achieve win‑win agreements.
Develop and execute a call plan that maximizes coverage and frequency to key customers for sales opportunities.
Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, and product expertise, sharing intelligence with the in‑field team, brand team, and sales manager.
Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers, identify, develop and maintain disease‑state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business‑related field preferred; relevant industry experience required.
At least five years of relevant experience, with three or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry; high school diploma/GED required.
Strong business acumen, strategic and critical thinking, proficiency with business tools, and ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment.
Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills.
Innovative ideas and solutions to maximize business opportunities and address challenges.
Influences others, is a credible role model, builds collaborative partnership with district colleagues and matrix team.
Preferred: Proven track record of success in sales performance within therapeutic areas; Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience; in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; English language proficiency.
Holds and maintains HCIR credentialing requirements and is in good standing.
