EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT’S CHIEF OF STAFF, OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT
The Executive Assistant will support the University President’s Chief of Staff and the Vice President for University Affairs & Secretary to the Board of Trustees with exceptional communication, calendaring, and project management skills.
Role Summary This integral role connects with partners and leaders across the university, independently managing projects while exercising sound judgment on complex matters.
Responsibilities
Provide advanced executive-level administrative support for high-level university leaders.
Manage sensitive content with discretion, ensuring timely, accurate execution in line with university policies.
Coordinate meetings and correspondence with internal and external stakeholders, including academic officers, faculty, senior staff, donors, and government officials.
Collaborate closely with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams to build strong relationships, align stakeholders, and promote teamwork, openness, and optimism.
Plan ahead, anticipate implications and logistics, and maintain strong organizational skills to support multiple initiatives and competing deadlines.
Make decisions that influence relationships within the University and with external partners, applying judgment to complex matters.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and at least seven years of relevant experience (or a combination of education and experience).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated extensive high-level administrative experience supporting executive‑level individuals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including editing and proofreading.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to cultivate positive working relationships and gain the trust and respect of all levels of internal and external constituencies.
Contextual understanding of senior leaders’ roles within the university framework.
Professionalism, flexibility, discretion, judgment, diplomacy, and tact.
Ability to multi‑task, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
Advanced computer skills and experience with office software and email applications.
Physical Requirements
Desk‑based computer tasks; frequently sitting; occasionally standing/walking, reaching, and manipulating light objects.
Rarely twist, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, or crawl.
