Job Description Job Description Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System Join QPCS, partnering with Titan-AUXO, in Serving Our Nation’s Veterans Location: Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System, 109 Bee Street, Charleston, SC 29401 Schedule: Day and night shifts available, including weekends and holidays. Typical shifts for inpatient units are 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM and 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM. QPCS, in partnership with Titan Auxo, is actively seeking dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our healthcare team at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System in Charleston, SC. Our CNAs play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support for veterans in Med/Surg and Inpatient Psychiatric units, working collaboratively with Registered Nurses and a multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities  Deliver direct patient care and interventions tailored to individual needs, following facility policies and safety standards.  Work independently with minimal supervision, escalating concerns or changes in patient condition as needed.  Assist with daily living activities, including feeding, mobility, hygiene, and support for patients with specialized equipment or therapies.  Monitor and record vital signs, report abnormal findings or emergencies, and assist with diagnostic exams and urgent procedures.  Prepare, label, and transport specimens; escort patients to diagnostic studies; maintain equipment readiness and cleanliness.  Support treatment procedures, such as dressing changes, care for patients in isolation, oxygen therapy assistance, and catheter care.  Document vital signs, update patient charts, and contribute to admission histories and care plans.  Promote patient independence and assist with education on self-care and pre/post-operative instructions.  Conduct inventory checks and ensure a safe care environment; participate in contraband searches.  Provide one-on-one care as a Patient Safety Partner, accompany/transport patients, and perform EKGs as requested.  Recognize and manage hazardous conditions and behavioral issues, reporting to RNs when necessary. May be required to care for COVID-19 positive patients and Patients Under Investigation (PUIs). Qualifications Current CNA certification from any U.S. state. Certification in CPR and current Basic Life Support (BLS) from an American Health Association vendor. At least one year of recent experience (within the last six months) in a medical/surgical unit, long-term care/nursing home, or inpatient psychiatric setting. Competence in CPR and basic patient care skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Computer literacy and accurate documentation skills. No health or physical disability restricting performance of duties. Compliance with required health screenings and immunizations. Additional Requirements Provide own uniforms (royal blue scrubs) and nametags. Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and alternating weekends as assigned.
