Vice President of Engineering, Autonomous Robotics (Hardware/Software) Hybrid in Denver, CO

About the Company We are a fully automated parking service. Our mission is to build sustainable robotic parking systems that are compact, efficient, and future‑proof. Our technology lets buildings reclaim space, improve throughput, and deliver a seamless parking and EV‑charging experience through robotics. If the idea of leveraging robotics to drive real world application and innovation excites you, you’ll feel right at home here.

Our engineering ecosystem is wide ranging: complex robotics systems that move cars, bay stations that measure vehicle dimensions with 3D lidar scanners, algorithmic multi‑agent planning software, and frontend user applications for mobile and web. Our infrastructure is deployed primarily on‑premise (IoT devices, NUCs, AGVs, et al), but also includes services on AWS & iOS/Android devices.

About the Opportunity We are hiring a hands‑on Vice President, Software Engineering to lead the team building the core robotics software that powers our AGVs, bay scanners, lift systems, and next‑generation automated EV charging robot. This is a hands‑on leadership role for an engineer who loves the intersection of software, electronics, and mechanical systems. You will drive architecture, planning, prototyping, and delivery of high‑reliability motion planning, sensing, control, and infrastructure software in a fast‑paced startup environment. You enjoy mentoring engineers, owning large system components, debugging robots in the wild, and shipping technology that makes a visible real‑world impact.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of robotics software engineers. Create clarity, unblock progress, and foster strong cross‑functional collaboration.

Own technical decisions across stack, tooling, and architecture. Balance rapid prototyping with well‑structured documentation and stable long‑term design.

Define roadmaps and backlogs across AGV, Bay, and VRC systems including sensing, localization, controller logic, embedded interfaces, motion planning, patron experience, and software infrastructure.

Increase the robustness and reliability of our C++, Python, and ROS2 software stack. Raise the bar on testing, security, code quality, and engineering discipline.

Support career development through 1:1s, performance reviews, and technical coaching. Help engineers grow while aligning them with company goals.

Requirements

8+ years of experience in software engineering

3+ years of engineering management experience in robotics, embedded systems, AV, gaming, or similar complex electromechanical environments

Production‑level C++ expertise (C++17 or above preferred)

Experience with ROS or similar middleware systems. Comfort with rapid prototyping. Working knowledge of embedded systems and Python a plus.

Familiarity with modern development practices including automated testing, Git, CI, containerization, and related toolchains

BS in CS, ME, EE, Robotics, or related field. MS preferred.

Curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to jump into whatever has the highest impact
