We’re actively seeking a
Psychiatrist
who wants to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families struggling with mental illness. We want psychiatrists who are committed to meeting diverse needs and providing quality mental health care in the community. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and a passion for helping underserved individuals, promoting recovery and patient-centredness. We value partners who are willing to go above and beyond, navigate complexity gracefully, and do the right thing in a public-sector setting.
Your Role In Action
Evaluate individuals and complete all applicable assessments which are required according to State and Program Standards and are deemed appropriate as outlined by the Chief Medical Officer.
Provide Medication Maintenance to those individuals assigned to the physician’s caseload or those deemed necessary to serve during a crisis situation.
Provide case consultation and prescribe all rehabilitative therapies associated with persons served.
Provide Crisis Resolution Services and make appropriate recommendations for other crisis services as needed.
Complete all required documentation necessary to ensure compliance with required Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, The Harris Center, and organizational standards 100% of the time.
Prescriptive Authority and provide supervision of APRN and PA’s.
Complete all required training as outlined by The Harris Center and attend designated meetings.
Perform other related job duties or responsibilities as requested or required, whether or not mentioned in the job description.
Education and Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited medical school and completion of a psychiatric residency program. Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas.
Special Courses, Certificates, and Licenses: Texas Medical License.
Licensed to Practice Medicine in the State of Texas (Specialty in Psychiatry).
Boards Eligible or Board Certified in General Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent, and Forensic.
Must have and maintain a current controlled substance registration certificate from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) Registration.
