Hand Orthopedic Surgeon (MD/DO)
Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Hand Orthopedic Surgeon to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the hand, wrist, and upper extremity. The surgeon will provide both surgical and non-surgical care for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage disorders of the hand, wrist, and upper extremity, including trauma, degenerative conditions, nerve injuries, and congenital abnormalities.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing operative and non-operative approaches.
Perform hand and upper extremity surgical procedures, including reconstructive, trauma, and elective surgeries.
Provide post-operative care and coordinate rehabilitation with physical and occupational therapy teams.
Educate patients on treatment options, recovery expectations, and injury prevention.
Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, and ancillary staff to ensure comprehensive care.
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and professional development activities.
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
Completion of an accredited residency in Orthopedic Surgery.
Fellowship training in Hand Surgery.
Board certification or eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery and Hand Surgery.
Active medical license to practice in the state of employment.
Strong surgical skills, clinical judgment, and communication abilities.
Work Environment
Hospital and outpatient clinic settings with access to operating room facilities.
Collaborative, team-based environment with opportunities for professional growth and continuing education.
Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
