OB Hospitalist – Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) Full‑time Position, AdventHealth Winter Garden. General Summary

The Hospital‑Based Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) / Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) operates in obstetric medicine. In an expanded hospital‑based role, the APRN manages a caseload of patients, consulting, collaborating, and receiving general supervision from a physician. Clinical care is delivered within the APRN’s specialty area and scope of practice. The APRN exercises independent judgment in assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of delegated medical processes and procedures, and is involved in education, consultation, and research at various levels. Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities

Evaluates pregnant and postpartum OB/GYN women in triage. Performs nursing duties related to midwifery including labor and delivery care, postpartum care, and newborn care. Educates women about various types of care, encouraging engagement in their pregnancy. Orders, interprets, and incorporates diagnostic tests, studies, and lab values into care plans; evaluates effectiveness. Formulates diagnoses based on history, physical examination, and clinical findings. Plans and provides care within the framework of policies, unit guidelines, and privileges. Serves as part of the OB/GYN team, working closely with physicians and other staff to ensure healthy pregnancies and deliveries. Prescribes pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic therapies per privileges. Emphasizes patient education, active participation, clear communication, and individualized health‑care experience. Advocates for birth education, natural childbirth, and family participation. Taught patients about infant care, including feeding and bonding. Communicates and documents pertinent case information promptly and thoroughly. Schedule Details

14 shifts per month, 12 hours each (day and night). Campus: AdventHealth Winter Garden. Participation in holiday rotation required. Knowledge and Skills Required

Knowledge of midwifery principles and techniques. Knowledge of methods ensuring a safe working environment for patients, families, and staff, including proper use of personal protective equipment. Knowledge of theories of family dynamics, mother‑child attachment, parenting, and adult learning concepts. Schedule available 3 months in advance (as needed). Participation in holiday rotation required. Education and Experience Required

Master’s Degree in Nursing with Midwifery Certification. 2–4 years of midwife experience in a hospital setting. Minimum three years of RN experience, including labor and delivery in a high‑risk center. Licensure, Certification or Registration Required

Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) program accredited by the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). DEA Licensure (preferred but not required). Hospital Description
