Primary Responsibilities
Partner with Market Sector Directors, transit engineering, rail and transit systems and O&M facilities design teams, Business Development Leads, Transportation Client Development Director, Regional and National Business Group leadership, to identify strategic focus areas, market drivers and define strategies for clients, including marketing and positioning for strategic pursuits in the transit market.
Collaborate with Business Class Directors to serve as a technical advisor or lead in support of strategic pursuits and projects.
Work with the Transit Market Sector Director and supporting leaders to assess the marketplace and develop recommendations and strategies for the best business approach for HDR.
Support proposal and collateral material development in collaboration with area and regional leadership.
Foster collaboration to support the hire and retention of staff.
Monitor performance of transit‑aligned business classes, trends in staffing, turnover, backlog, open positions, and utilization.
Monitor workshare efforts and provide input to area and regional leadership.
Serve as a project manager or principal in charge and leverage HDR’s global expertise to deliver quality work on time, while meeting or exceeding client expectations.
Partner with Market Sector Directors and Business Class Directors in the development and execution of key initiatives during strategic planning and annual alignment meetings.
Participate in key trade associations and related activities that support business strategy and client development.
Participate in monthly business class and transit market sector national coordination meetings.
Provide input to transit‑aligned business class directors on staff development and recognition in company‑wide programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Highly skilled professional and nationally recognized industry leader in transit and rail planning, engineering, and construction in the United States.
Respected organizational leader with a demonstrated record of developing, supporting, and maximizing high‑performance teams.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline required along with a Professional Engineering license (P.E.).
Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
Experience developing and enhancing transportation client relationships throughout the complete life cycle of project delivery including marketing, proposal development, negotiations, contract execution, planning, design and construction.
Experienced in the development and management of diverse teams.
Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group directors, technical directors and marketing managers.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a professional, architecture, engineering or closely related field.
10 years of experience in a related field.
Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience.
Experienced in development and management of diverse teams.
Works cooperatively with other business class regional directors, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts.
