Key Responsibilities

Business Development:

Lead marketing, strategy development, prospect identification, proposal development, client presentations, project budgeting and contracting for new opportunities. Accountable for new business objectives and overall project performance.

Project Management:

Interact with assigned clients, promote Black & Veatch through community activities, support overall market business plan and client engagement strategies, and leverage company technical and management resources to expand market footprint.

Project Execution:

Oversee engineering managers, develop project performance goals, lead performance implementation, collaborate with internal teams and owner representatives, manage budgeting, invoicing, payments, and conduct project performance reviews.

Staff Management:

Develop team, mentor and coach for performance improvement, recommend training and promotion for assigned professionals, and identify and develop new candidates to expand the team.

Management Responsibilities:

Act as project manager, overseeing a project team that may vary by assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

20+ years of active water/wastewater experience with demonstrated leadership in the industrial sector.

Professional Engineering license and a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.

Strong understanding of budgets and financial metrics.

Contract negotiation skills, including knowledge of terms, risks, pricing and payment terms.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Applicants must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screening, motor vehicle records).

Work Environment / Physical Demands Typical office and construction environments. Exposure to extreme weather, high noise, electrical hazards, chemicals, and atmospheric conditions. Physical demands include lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds and standing or walking for extended periods.
