Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) sector seeks a Sr. Principal Project Manager to support the Advanced Tactical Fighters (ATP) Program Execution Organization onsite in Baltimore, MD. This person will be contributing to one of the largest portfolios in the AMS Division, supporting a unique range of cutting‑edge technology programs spanning development to production, while operating in a challenging environment to bring needed capability to the Warfighter. This role reports to the Risk & Opportunity Program Manager as a Project Integrator focusing on risk and opportunity management for the development side of the portfolio, as well as ad‑hoc assignments supporting the overall organizational unit.
Responsibilities
Maintain day‑to‑day interfaces and communications between the Program Management Office (PMO) and functional Cost Account Managers (CAMs) as risk strategies are executed.
Facilitate internal meetings ensuring thorough risk & opportunity management practices are adhered to.
Effectively lead CAMs through risk identification, mitigation, and realization.
Support execution of risk response plans and mitigation strategies in collaboration with CAMs.
Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) or similar cost & schedule control methodologies and tools.
Adhere to all internal processes, policies, and applicable industry standards.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years, master’s degree, and 6+ years, and relevant experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries.
Project management experience in engineering, finance, logistics, operations, or supply chain/subcontracts management.
Must possess strong organization and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels of management and individual contributors.
Ability to travel domestically as required.
U.S. citizenship with an active U.S. DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to qualify for access to Special Access Programs (SAPs) with the ability to work on‑site in classified areas.
Preferred Qualifications
Active U.S. DoD Top Secret clearance and the ability to qualify for access to Special Access Programs (SAPs).
Prior experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and as a cost account manager (CAM).
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or master’s degree in business administration (MBA) with three years’ experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) and/or Government contracts.
Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR).
Primary Level Salary Range: $112,200.00 - $168,200.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
