Overview
We’re looking for an Accounting Manager at
Gravie . The Accounting Manager assists in the preparation and review of financial statements and reports that follow regulatory and accounting guidelines under the supervision of the Controller. The role involves interpreting and analyzing accounting data, recommending action, and managing the monthly accounting close process. Responsibilities
Train and manage accounting staff, develop their skills, review work, manage day‑to‑day responsibilities, and track long‑term goals. Manage the monthly accounting close process. Track, review, and analyze monthly balance sheet account reconciliations. Manage the Reinsurance Dashboard monthly and reconcile to the Stop Loss, Claims, Aon, Reinsurer, and GL reporting teams. Coordinate with external Finance teams (Actuarial, Stop Loss, Claims, HPA, Underwriting) to ensure accurate reporting. Review and approve all journal entries and account reconciliations related to broker commissions. Manage fixed‑asset processes: track/tag assets, calculate depreciation, and manage capitalization policies. Track, review, and analyze cash forecasts. Analyze and apply accounting pronouncements, research and resolve technical accounting issues. Assist in preparation of supporting information for the Company’s financial statements and related disclosures. Oversee and review operating expenses and accrual accounts; review and approve journal entries. Coordinate and review Management Reports, including variance analysis for monthly meetings with Finance Leadership and RSIC Leadership. Act as resource and coordinator for external auditors. Lead and manage various projects such as process improvements, cross‑departmental initiatives, and procedure documentation. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement improvements. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. 5+ years of substantial accounting experience. Strong general business acumen. History of managing complex processes and multi‑layered projects. Excellent communication skills. Demonstrated success in achieving results through collaboration. Extra Credit
Certified Public Accountant designation. Audit or tax experience with a public accounting firm. Experience with NetSuite. Compensation
Salary range: $91,010 – $151,690 annually. Benefits
