Hematology/Oncology APP - Downtown, San Antonio, Tx Texas Oncology San Antonio is looking for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team! This full‑time position is located at 1200 Brooklyn Ave, #115, San Antonio, Tx. The role supports the Medical Oncology team. Working hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday‑Friday.

Long‑Term Incentive Plan (LTIP) LTIP is an incentive program with a three‑year vesting period tied to individual performance and operational success of Texas Oncology. Awards are discretionary, reviewed during the annual compensation review, and subject to continued employment through the award payment date.

What does the Advanced Practice Provider do? The primary role of the APP is to provide direct diagnostic and therapeutic patient care in collaboration with practice physicians, impacting quality of patient care and outcomes across the continuum. APPs support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program.

Responsibilities

Direct care and management in outpatient, inpatient, and surgical settings including documentation, patient/family education, ordering and reviewing diagnostic studies, prescribing medications, managing symptoms, counseling and support, collaborating with and referring to other health care providers, and providing education to staff and community.

Interdependent practice with collaborative physicians and team.

Proficient use of the Electronic Health Record and completion of documentation per Texas Oncology policy and guidelines.

Build strong collaborative relationships across the organization and the local medical community.

Perform diagnostic/therapeutic procedures as appropriate.

Participate in tumor board, institutional trainings, and meetings as required.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Prerequisites (common to all tracks)

RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.

Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification.

Evidence of proven clinical experience in a medical oncology setting (minimum 0–6 years depending on level).

Advanced Practice Provider – Nurse Practitioner

Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.

Level 1

requires 0–3 years of experience;

Level 2

requires 3–6 years;

Level Sr

requires ≥6 years. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.

Advanced Practice Provider – Physician Assistant

Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and current NCCPA certification.

Level 1

requires 0–3 years;

Level 2

requires 3–6 years;

Level Sr

requires ≥6 years. Current state license as a Physician Assistant.

Advanced Practice Provider – Clinical Nurse Specialist

Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program.

Level 1

requires 0–3 years;

Level 2

requires 3–6 years;

Level Sr

requires ≥6 years. Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Physical Demands Requires full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extended periods, occasionally lifting items up to 40 lb, and normal corrected vision and hearing.

Work Environment Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic.
