Advanced Practice Provider (APP)

to join our team! This full‑time position is located at 1200 Brooklyn Ave, #115, San Antonio, TX and supports the Medical Oncology team. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday‑Friday.

What you’ll do: The primary role of the APP is to provide direct diagnostic and therapeutic patient care in collaboration with practice physicians. You will document visits, provide patient and family education, order and review diagnostic studies, prescribe medications, manage symptoms, counsel and support patients, and collaborate with other health‑care providers. You’ll also participate in tumor boards, institutional trainings, and meetings as required.

Responsibilities

Direct care and management in the outpatient/inpatient/surgical setting, including documentation, education, diagnostics, medication prescribing, symptom management, and counseling.

Interdependent practice with collaborative physicians and the care team.

Proficient use of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) per Texas Oncology policy.

Build strong collaborative relationships across the organization and the local medical community.

Perform diagnostic/therapeutic procedures as appropriate.

Participate in tumor board, institutional trainings, and meetings.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will meet the following background and experience requirements:

Nurse Practitioner:

MSN from an accredited nursing school; successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program; RN state licensure and current registration with the state board; current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification. Minimum 0–3 years for Level 1, 3+ years for Level 2, 6+ years for Level Sr.

Physician Assistant:

Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program; NCCPA certification; current state license; BLS/CPR certification. Same level requirements as for NP.

Clinical Nurse Specialist:

MSN from an accredited nursing school; successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program; RN state licensure; BLS/CPR certification. Same level requirements as above.

Physical Demands Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extended periods, and occasional lifting of items up to 40 lb. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Work Environment Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
