The Team Black & Veatch’s Governments & Communities focuses on infrastructure for municipalities, state and local governments, and specialized physical and digital solutions for government and federal agencies. Our Industrial Water solution delivers lifecycle water, wastewater and stormwater projects for heavy commercial and industrial clients, balancing sustainability, resilience, regulatory compliance and community relations.

Key Responsibilities

Business development:

Lead marketing, strategy development, prospect identification, proposal development, project budgeting and contracting.

Project management:

Interact with clients, promote Black & Veatch through client and community activities, support market business plans and client engagement strategies.

Project execution:

Oversee engineering managers, develop project performance goals, ensure budgeting, invoicing, payments and lead project performance reviews.

Staff management:

Mentor and coach team members, recommend training and promotion, identify and develop new candidates.

Management Responsibilities Acts as a project manager and manages a project team.

Preferred Qualifications

20+ years of active water/wastewater experience with demonstrated leadership in the industrial sector.

Professional Engineering License; Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline.

Understanding of budgets and financial metrics.

Contract negotiation skills including knowledge of terms, risks, pricing and payment terms.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records).

Work Environment/Physical Demands Typical office, typical construction, extreme weather, high noise, safety hazards (electric currents, scaffolding, high places, chemical exposure).
