Environmental Services Director
Yona Solutions seeks an experienced Environmental Services Director to oversee housekeeping and laundry operations in a skilled nursing facility.
Responsibilities
Interview, hire and orient housekeeping, floor care and laundry staff.
Train staff in procedures and equipment maintenance.
Plan, organize, direct and supervise departmental functions.
Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe and secure environment.
Forecast and plan purchases of cleaning supplies, chemicals and equipment.
Schedule staffing to ensure adequate services and maintain proper staffing levels.
Maintain required records, including inventory, compliance, income/expense and personnel records.
Conduct regular management staff meetings and coordinate housekeeping activities with other departments.
Manage a cost‑effective program and budget.
Ensure department is survey‑ready and complies with federal, state and local regulations.
Promote resident satisfaction and perform job assignments as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Four‑year college degree (high school diploma/GED required).
Two years experience in housekeeping services in a healthcare environment and personnel supervision.
Skill in motivating and supervising staff members.
Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service and quality attitude.
Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
Public speaking skills.
Excellent stress management skills and administrative and organizational follow‑through.
Ability to interact positively with residents and the public.
Ability to work all shifts as needed.
Proficiency in Windows based office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Must be able to work around cleaning chemicals and lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds.
