Staff Accountant — Modera Wealth Management
Location: Boston, MA (hybrid – minimum 3 days in office)
Experience: Entry level –
Minimum 2 years post‑degree work experience
Job Overview We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our expanding finance team. This full‑time hybrid role involves comprehensive accounting functions and support for executive reporting.
Responsibilities
Execute all accounts payable tasks, including invoice processing, payments, and vendor relationship management.
Process & manage employee expense reimbursements.
Record revenue and accounts receivable entries, and support A/R operations.
Reconcile revenue in NetSuite with revenue reports from the billing system.
Investigate billing and client payment issues, including processing client refunds.
Record bank transactions weekly and perform monthly bank statement reconciliations.
Monitor bank balances and cash flow, alerting the Director of Finance as needed.
Handle online banking administrative tasks.
Perform monthly accounting close, account reconciliations, and generate financial reports.
Maintain balance sheet schedules and post monthly entries (prepaid, accrued, amortization/depreciation).
Process and track Modera Charitable Foundations requests.
Assist the Director of Finance with reporting for executive leadership, board of managers, and key stakeholders.
Record payroll entries into NetSuite and reconcile employee liabilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, plus minimum 2 years post‑degree work experience.
Proficiency with NetSuite desktop.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Commitment to continual improvement and willingness to learn new tasks.
Ability to manage deadlines and schedule tasks effectively.
Confidentiality is essential.
Skills and Competencies
Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Working knowledge of planning strategies and solutions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and financial planning software.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Team‑player, adaptable, flexible.
Client‑first attitude.
Occasional travel may be required.
