Job Summary

SixAM Strategies is looking for individuals with education, interest and/or experience in policy and communications to join our team as a Director. This position will work on multiple corporate and trade association accounts and serve as the policy and/or media strategist within a larger team. Ideal candidates will have experience distilling complex policy issues at the federal or state level into a messaging and communication strategy.

As a bipartisan firm, SixAM Strategies provides 360-degree hyperlocal advocacy coverage for our clients. We are currently seeking candidates with deep expertise in the Democratic legislative and campaign ecosystem to lead strategic engagement with clients.

Key Responsibilities

Lead corporate work in a client facing role, managing grassroots field teams for corporations, coalitions, and causes Lead multistate campaigns for reputation and advocacy efforts Develop and execute hyperlocal communications plans – including content development and media strategies

Position Requirements

6-8 years of professional experience within a public affairs agency or the Democratic political ecosystem, with a demonstrated ability to navigate campaigns, legislative offices, party organizations, or progressive advocacy coalitions to achieve policy and communications objectives Understanding of the communications landscape and how various communications channels work (i.e. digital, print, social, broadcast) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong time management and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously Brings a positive, collaborative attitude and thrives in a team-oriented environment
