Coral Gardeners . The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) is a key member of the Executive Team, reporting directly to the CEO. He/she is responsible for defining and executing a comprehensive revenue generation strategy to ensure the organization’s sustainable growth and global impact. The CRO leads all business units contributing to revenue: Corporate Partnerships, Ecotourism, Philanthropy, and Coral Adoptions, E-commerce and Merchandising, in alignment with the organization’s mission and financial objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategy and Leadership
Define a clear, ambitious revenue growth vision, translated into actionable and measurable business plans per business unit. Set, monitor, and adjust revenue objectives in coordination with the CEO and CFO. Build and lead a high-performing organization, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation across teams. Ensure robust planning, tracking, and financial reporting for all revenue lines, including consolidated performance analysis. Anticipate and manage financial impacts related to signed or delayed contracts. Work closely with the Finance Department to ensure accurate forecasts, margin control, and compliance with financial standards. Collaborate with the Communication Department to design impactful campaigns that support revenue growth and brand awareness.
2. Corporate Partnerships
Identify, negotiate, and close strategic partnerships with mission-aligned corporations. Develop attractive and sustainable offers that create mutual value. Supervise and empower the Partnerships Development and Coordination teams to drive acquisition, satisfaction, and retention of key partners. Work hand-in-hand with the CEO on major negotiations and long-term strategic deals.
3. Ecotourism
Develop and oversee the global ecotourism strategy, including offer design, business models, customer experience, and execution quality. Build and/or supervise collaborations with hospitality, travel, and institutional partners to maximize both impact and profitability. Guarantee a 5-star experience with a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 90 or above. Define and implement a philanthropy strategy to attract significant donations from individuals, foundations, and benefactors. Develop tailored proposals for each donor segment and cultivate long-term relationships with major contributors.
5. Adoptions, E-commerce and Merchandising
Ensure the global development and optimization of the coral adoption program (both B2B and B2C). Lead teams to grow e-commerce revenues and merchandising sales, ensuring full alignment between offer, digital experience, and brand image.
6. Representation and influence
Represent the organization with strategic partners, investors, donors, and the media, embodying the organization’s mission and vision. Actively contribute to strategic discussions and decision-making within the Executive Committee. Expand the organization’s international network and open new strategic opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 5 years of experience as a Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) or equivalent senior role. Proven success in revenue generation and strategic growth across multiple business streams. Solid academic background in Business, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred). Experience working in mission-driven or hybrid economic organizations. Fluent in English and French (spoken and written). Passionate about the ocean, sustainability, and innovation with impact. Hard worker with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach. SKILLS
Proven leadership with the ability to inspire, structure, and motivate multidisciplinary teams. Strong entrepreneurial mindset; capable of managing multiple business units simultaneously. Strategic thinker with outstanding analytical and financial acumen. Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills. Strong understanding of hybrid revenue models (corporate, philanthropic, tourism, e-commerce). Advanced proficiency in data analytics, CRM tools, and business planning. Highly organized, results-driven, and product-focused; passionate about continuous improvement. Network builder with strong influencing skills and a collaborative spirit. OTHER INFORMATION
Position based in California, with frequent travel to French Polynesia and other strategic regions.
