42257 Registered Nurse, PACU Outpatient Surgery (Per Diem)

About the Moakley PACU Same Day Surgery Center at Boston Medical Center The Ambulatory Surgery Center's PACU has 12 permanent bays and 3 swing bays designed with the patient in mind, facilitating quick movement in and out of operating suites.
Position Summary As an RN in the Moakley PACU, you will provide exceptional care to adult and pediatric patients within a supportive, patient-centered organization.
Job Responsibilities
Deliver nursing care in the Perioperative Services unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and patient education.
Communicate with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
Update and manage patient records.
Enter and interpret computerized data.
Adhere to BMC nursing guidelines and policies.
Assist the leadership team with quality improvement projects.
Job Requirements
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
1+ years of RN experience preferred.
BLS certification.
ACLS certification required in certain units.
PALS certification.
Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred); ability to obtain BSN within four years.
Relevant clinical experience; specialty or certification required for certain practice areas.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Physical ability to perform job responsibilities.
Basic computer proficiency.
Fluency in another language is a plus.
Critical Care (PACU/ED/ICU) experience required.
Current and/or previous PACU experience strongly preferred.
